One of the most critical services for all communities is its emergency medical services. Personnel working in the area of EMS will be able to communicate with Spanish-speaking persons in order to: a) make an initial assessment of the situation upon arriving at the scene; b) determine the chief complaint of the injured or ill person(s); c) gather a history of any existing health issues; d) provide initial treatment and utilize body commands to make assessment and treatment; e) acquire patient identification and request or refusal of transport permission; and much more.
